For the 6th year in a row, Zayed Charity Marathon is moving confidently forward in Egypt. 

The idea of the Marathon is to establish a big sport event to cherishe the memory of Shiekh Zayed Al Nihian while “Running for a Cause”, as the outcome of each Marathon goes to a Charity partner. This year, the Marathon revenue will be dedicated to the National Cancer Institute.   

From a Medium Seized Event, to the Biggest Sport Gala organized by a management office that consists of 5 governmental bodies: 

• The Ministry of Youth and Sport 
• The Ministry of Health - The Egyptian Red Crescent 
• The Ministry of Interior
• The Sues Governorate 
• The Ministry of Urban Development

In association with the Higher Organizing Committee of Zayed Marathon in Emirates headed by Abu Dhabi Sport Council. 

First version was held in New York, and then moved to UAE, but since 2015, it is based in Egypt: 

2015: Cairo 

2016: Cairo 

2017: Luxor

2018: Ismailia

Last year, Ismailia Governorate, marked a benchmark in organization and participation with new accomplishments such as: 

Online Reiteration, an effective digital campaign including  the website of the ministry of youth & Sports, a Timing System where all participants received a sport kit that induces an Electronic Race Number, T-Shirt and a Mini Sport Bag, in addition to Distribution Centers where registered participants can go smoothly and receive their kits in Cairo – Giza – Ismailia. 

This year, the Marathon will be held in Suez Governorate to highlight its importance as a new Free Zone and a commercial hub.

The Marathon will be held in 27 December 2019, the distance will be 8 k and it consists of 2 Events: the Main Race and the Para Race.

The Start and Finish Gate will be held on The Corniche area, one of the most beautiful spots in Seuz especially after renovations. We target more than 10.000 participants and we are planning a huge media coverage for the Event using the latest photography and videography techniques including drowns. 

And for the first time this year, a new Fan Zone will be held in the Start & Finish area to add more fun and excitement to the event. 

This event will remain unusual, as it highlights the ongoing collaboration between Egypt and Emirates, and that sport events can get us close no matter what.
