How did you get into bodybuilding?

After 15 years of bodybuilding, I look back at the time I started and think about why I wanted to get a good body. As a kid, I was small, made up of skin and bones. I was embarrassed to talk to people, and I had very few friends. But the main reason was that I was getting bullied.

Bodybuilding has not exactly been a bed of roses for me. I have been training for close to 15 years to date and you can be sure I had my fair share of moments where I just wanted to give up.

I could still remember my parents were strongly discouraging me from bodybuilding. It was like a "fact" that if you do bodybuilding, you would not be able to grow and develop like a normal child. Although these concepts were completely groundless and out of this world, it is an issue I had to deal with from my family.

What are the main competitions that you have participated in and what are the prizes and positions you have won?

I got sixth place in The SHOW in Egypt season one, fourth place in Mr. Olympic in Dubai, and first place (gold medal) at INBA (Intersessional Natural Bodybuilding Athlete) in Dubai.

How long do you spend training per week?

I spend six days training for an hour and half.

Who do you look up to as a role model?

Arnold Schwarzenegger has lived an impressive life. What we can learn from Arnold is a general approach to life. When Arnold found bodybuilding, he found something that had intrinsic value to him.

At the end, my role model is not one person but an entire group of people. My role models are the men and women on the sports field of every country. I look up to these people because I long to be just like them. When I get older, I want to be just like the men and women I so admire.

Do you follow a certain dietary plan? Can you give some hints about it?

Yes, I definitely do.

Following a specific diet is tough, but it's not impossible. It may take a bit of practice, but you can do it with a little help.

What is your favourite exercise?

The Deadlift: King of Exercises:

  • Deadlifts can be performed by anybody and are safe for everybody, however, only on the condition that one has good form and is flexible enough to perform this "hip extension" exercise properly to work the lower back

Squats:

  • Squats are an excellent exercise for training the lower body and core muscles. Squats are primarily a lower body exercise and works out the following muscles quadriceps, gluteus maximus, hamstrings, hip adductors, hip abductors, gastrocnemius (calf), soleus, tibias anterior, rectus abdominals, and erector spinae.

What is your major dream?

My dream is to own my private fitness brand (Mo’s Gym like David Gold’s/Gold’s Gym).

This career is incredibly rewarding, but is very hard to stand out in. Be patient and do whatever you have to do to stand out from the crowd. You walk into most gyms and you will see the same things going on. Be different and you will be noticed. Get results and you will be noticed.

I am a true believer that one of the things we do well that helps us stand out is the use of technology. Most trainers don’t document anything they do with their clients. We not only document everything a client does, we have it all built into a cloud system. So the first thing you will notice at our gym is all of our trainers walking around documenting sets, reps, and weights. This is a very simple use of technology and an incredible way to stand out.
