Egypt’s junior and women’s golf teams won 7 various medals in the Pan Arab Championship, which concluded its competitions in Hammamet, Tunisia.

The golf teams won 3 silver and 4 bronze medals in the competitions, in which 10 Arab countries participated from Tunisia, the host country, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Libya, in addition to Egypt.

The under-15 girls’ team, Talia Sameh and Nour Ehab, and the 15-year-olds, Mohamed Rabie, Rani Al-Taweel and Ibrahim Al-Ghatrifi, won second place and a silver medal.

Talia Sameh, in her first Arab participation, was able to achieve the silver medal for the under-15 singles, and she was very close to the gold after providing a great performance. Unfortunately, she had lost the deciding hole in the last round, and the match ended in a draw with Tunisian player Ibtihal Hammami.

Meanwhile, the under-18 teams that include Mohamed Abu El-Ela, Taymour Rabie, Salim El-Abyari; from the women’s team, Mia Hussein, Farah Ehab, Nadia Yousry; and from the under-13, Salama, Omar Yousry and Salim Taher, won third place and bronze medals, each in their category.

Salama won third place in the junior singles for the 13-year stage after being equal with the Tunisian Mahdi Ben Youssef with 154 hits each.

After the competitions ended, the award ceremony was held in the presence of the President of the Tunisian Olympic Committee and the Board of Directors of the Tunisian Golf Federation, headed by Maher Bouchamaoui and Vice President of the Arab Golf Federation Abdelaziz Al Mulla.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Golf Federation and Head of Mission in Tunisia, Maher Wahib, praised the players’ performance during the tournament under the leadership of coaches Raouf Mahrous and Ibrahim Samir.

Waheeb stressed that the players gave everything they had and did their utmost to stand on the podium, and they were able to overcome the lack of success on the first day of the tournament and were able to restore balance again and compete with full force in the last two rounds.
